Structured XML deserves a structured spreadsheet
CAMT.053 files are XML, which is excellent for machines and unreadable for people. MT2CAMT converts the structured data into a proper Excel workbook: date cells for dates, numeric cells for amounts, and the counterparty and reference fields the bank actually sent.
Those fields are the real advantage over a bank's own CSV export: counterparty IBAN and name sit in dedicated elements (RltdPties) and the full remittance reference in EndToEndId, while a quick portal CSV frequently flattens or drops exactly that structure. Because the source is structured rather than free text, the output is measurably more complete.
